View Full Version : Changed network settings incorrectly

As part of an ongoing issue I have been having with the TiVo not updating over the internet (but OK on dialup), I changed a setting on the TivoWebPlus.

I can't remember the name of the setting now (as I have lost connection to it). It was set to a single digit - I think it was 0 or 3. (If I recall correctly, it may have been called 'metric').

Since then I have lost network connection to the Tivo, and the dialup will no longer connect.

Is the only option now to remove the hard drive, connect it to a computer and reinstall/reconfigure the network settings that way ??

If so, what software/files must I update ?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Daniel

I can't be massively helpful as I don't have Tivowebplus.
IIRC there is a debug setting for the cachecard, the highest setting disables the external connection.

If you can't telnet to the Tivo then you're going to have to remove the drive and rerun nic config tivo or the driver installation nic_install cachecard

I believe you can get a temporary dialup connection by simply removing the cachecard and connecting the phone line, but that would just buy you time.

Good luck
