Some random thoughts on this episode:
- I think this was the first episode where I was actually rooting for the product to fail. The 'pitchwoman' came off as quite unlikable to me, and although it seemed like she had a financial interest in the success of the Spin Gym, it just didn't resonate with me as much as the other products where the actual inventor was involved.
- I couldn't find the Spin Gym offered anywhere online. Makes me think the product was a total flop.
- I think A.J. had it right when he commented that it seemed next to impossible to show-off the Spin Gym in a 2:00 spot. Sort of makes me think that if he (or the Guys) were brought this product by someone they didn't have a previous relationship with, it would not have gotten their backing. My guess is that they all believed that this product would be "good for the show" whether it ended up being a success or failure.
- Sully and Billy Mays really came across well in this episode. Underneath all the shtick I think they are probably pretty good friends. In fact, I think Sully comes across the best - just look at how he was gushing over Billy's appearance on The Tonight Show. Not a hint of jealousy, just genuine pride in his friend's (and by proxy, his) accomplishments.
This show reminds me of an infomercial. Once you start watching, it's very, very hard to turn off. :)
