I unplugeed it and when I plugged back, it didn't power on. The fan runs, but the power light doesn't come on or the hard drive. I took the hard drive out and plug it to a power source and it comes on. I'm thinking it must be the power supply. Any ideas, sugestions? Where can I get a power supply for this model?

Thanks

Much cheaper on EBay, just search Consumer Electronics for Tivo Power Supply should cost you around $15.00 Good Luck :) By the way I think its your motherboard not the power supply. here is a power supply fix.

CCS corp can fix the motherboard and the power supply both covered by the same fee. http://www.ccscorporation.net/dss.htm

My original issue of the DVR not powering up was a power supply. I had another DSR704 and replaced the power supply and worked. Now I'm back to the original two problems. Getting the nned to activate DVR service #81 and that one of the DVR doesn't display any channel. It shows the Tivo info screen (the one on the top and the one when you pause) and the TIVO menus, but if you turn for example to CNN or any channel, you just see a black screen.

What other troubleshooting have you done?

Tune to chs 490-494. These verify reception from the 101, 119, and 110 sats. Of course, this depends on what dish you have.
