I will be selling my S3 on Ebay (switched to Directv) and asked TiVo to cancel my service yesterday. Got a confirmation # but I still have the service active. Does it take few days to actually have the service interrupted ?
Thanks

They may only cancel at the end of your current monthly billing cycle. If you paid May 1st, your subscription is probably good until June 1st.

Yes, you have to wait until it runs out. I picked up a S3 on eBay last month. I had to wait until 5/18 when the original owners service ran out. Tivo told me they could not do anything until that happened.
On 5/18 I just activated the unit on the Tivo website.

Yep, I confirmed this with Tivo . Do you think it's safe to sell it now on Ebay, from the seller's point of view ? My contract ends in October only. It's funny since I got a cancelation confirmation number, just hope they don't "renew" my contract automaticaly.Thanks.

How did you cancel service? I am getting a wrong number on the published CS number. 877-867-8486 .

The number is incorrect and I wonder if they did it on purpose . The correct number is
1-877-367-8486

One thing to point out is: If the unit is still active under the original owner it will contain their media access key. Multi room viewing will not be possible until it is on the new owners account.
I found this out with the one that I purchased but it was not a big deal for me to wait a couple of days.
