help with clarifying what video types i can and cant stream

hi all-

i am looking at maybe buying a tivo hd dvr to replace my xbmc.

i have seen the project streambaby but its unclear to me what it can stream. is it only mpeg? what about divx / xvid avi files? any way to play those?

I've had pretty good results with Streambaby. Generally, if it can be decoded with FFMPEG, it can be played back.

That being said, if you're only looking for a media playback solution to replace XBMC and aren't that interesting in PVR functionality, there are better solutions out there than a Tivo with Streambaby.
