twice today I've had to reboot the 810 after selecting a program from Now Playing and then the audio is gone. After a reboot the audio comes back. It played for a few hours then the exact same thing happened again. Thinking back maybe this happened once a few months back.
Anyone got any ideas?

here's an update. it seems that there is no audio being encoded as it comes in from the cable box. Previously recorded shows play audio but now, even after rebooting, there is no audio coming in. I'm guessing that the tivo is dead? I opened it up and blew out any dust thinking that maybe a chip was over heating. Any thoughts?

How does the Pioneer get its audio and video? I've had some sporadic problems with the video cutting out or not being recognized using the s-video connection. You could try re-running the guided setup to see if that fixes it.
It might be that your hard drive is failing in an odd way and is manifesting itself as an audio problem. You could try copying the data to a new hard drive.
Let us know what you find out, whether good or bad.
