Replacing Tivo HD

I purchased a new Tivo HD unit to replace a problematic refurb unit. I have Time Warner Cable with a M card and tuning adapter. I have a couple of questions.

1) Will Tivo let me switch my Tivo account to the new unit? I am still under my 1 year commitment and do not want to get charged an early termanation fee.

2) Can I just put the cable card into the new unit or will I have to call Time Warner and have them switch somewthing on their end?

If you purchased a new TivoHD from TiVo.com, you cannot move an existing subscription to it. All purchases from TiVo.com require new subscriptions unless you call TiVo to specifically order a replacement.

If you purchased a TiVo elsewhere, then you can move your existing subscription to it by logging onto your Tivo.com account and clicking "Change service number."

Time Warner will likely have to pair the card to the new TiVo.
