I'm getting a 4-5 sec delay with the remote on my R15. All of the functions to the dvr are delayed while things like volume to the tv are instant. New batteries, reset dvr, still the same.
Anyone run into this?

Actually, the delay is also with the buttons on the dvr as well. So, it's not the remote.

Check for IR interference in the room. You may not believe this but enough interference can also affect the response with the panel buttons. Get up close to the unit to block any outside interference and see if it works better.

Thanks, but I found it is not related to the remote. The buttons on the dvr do the same thing. Ideas?

I think you missed an important part of what Jim said!

To expand on what I said. If there is enough IR interference, the front buttons may not work because the software is trying to process the IR commands, ignoring the front buttons. A way to test for the interference is by blocking the IR sensor on the front of the unit and then press a button.

Yep, missed that part. I'm familiar with that so I removed all other remotes from the room. Still no luck. Just blocked off the IR sensor on the dvr and no change. Probably not related, but many recent recordings will end up with a dead area (pixelated then black). No direct relation to rain/weather.
The delay seems to come and go. No correlation to time of day or any other pattern I can find.

IR interference has been known to come from compact fluorescent lighting and also from LCD TVs. But, since you have blocked the sensor off and still have the problem, the next thing to do is to carefully remove the cover and check if the IR sensor has slipped from behind its window.

Cool, thanks Jim. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Strange that it is intermittent. Got this R15 a couple months ago. Not a fan.
