I decided to cancel my Season Pass to the Critic's Pick (NY Times) TiVoCast and did so using TiVo Search. After I chose "Yes" to cancel the S.P., the weiner did not display and all valid remote buttons resulted in a "bong" sound. The only thing I could do was hit the TiVo button to exit the application.
If it makes a difference I got into TiVo Search by using the "Explore this program" menu item in the Critic's Pick download.
