Dual Tuner Series 2 Help

I just installed a dual tuner series 2. The off connection going straight to the cable box is crystal clear. The connection going into the tivo comes out grainy and when the tivo records the picture is also grainy. I have it hooked up exactly as the directions indicate and it will record two different shows, however the primary recording channel is poor to worse quality.

Any ideas how to get both connections to be crystal clear and record clearly?

Did you change the recording quality? Could someone have done that before you got it? (i.e. was it new or used?)

If you disconnect the coax cable from the TiVo input and then connect it directly into the TV what is the picture quality like?

Try reversing the inputs to see if the analog signal improves and/or the digital ones degrade. If so, the cable for the degraded tuner is defective.

If no change, try running the cable straight to the TiVo, bypassing the splitter. If you get a better analog picture, either the splitter is defective, or you have a cable feed that is too weak to be split without additional remedies.
