I had to redo guided setup because I added a cable converter to a Tivo that did not have one. Does anyone know a good way to delete all those digital channels I don't subscribe to?
PIP might help on the "channels" menu, that way I could tell if it is a channel I get before I delete it.
I doesn't seem possible to get a correct printout form Comcast that tells me all the channels I recieve on my "digital starter" tier.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

You can't actually "delete" them; what you CAN do is de-select them in channel settings. There's no way to get rid of them actually being on that list.

Right, I want to de-select them, to me they will be dead. There is no way for me to look at the channel list and check to see if it is a channel I get simultaneously.
If I could de-select them from the guide interface it would be much easier than going into the channels menu.

Hi Steve,
I printed a copy of the channel lineups from my cable company (BrightHouse), and marked all the channels I did not want to view. Being a single guy, the 'Lifetime' and home shopping channels were the first to go. I also removed all the On Demand and PPV channels. Whenever I need to redo guided setup, I reference this list. When too many channels get added and removed from the lineup, I print up a new copy for reference.
Here's a webpage to help guide you to where you specify what channels you want to view: Helpful link with pictures! I guess I'll give Comcast a shot again and try to get a list.

Something that helps a little-
I'm not postivie if it works on that menu screen specifically but sometimes when i have things like that-
go to the channel i receive menu and start doing what you want. If you get to a channel you aren't sure about- hit the live tv button and then tune to the channel and see what's doing. then instead of hitting the tivo button to go back to the main menu and hunting for the menu item again- hit the LEFT arrow and it will return to the menu screen you last were on.
I know it works for the diag screens- so I assume it will work for the channels i receive screen.

I agree completely. Comcast can't or won't tell me what channels I receive. All they can do is give me a bunch of lists, none of which are correct or current.
Let's see, did I subscribe to the home basic ultra package, or the digital starter with the expanded option without the extended channels?
In the end, the only way I could make it work was to get a pad of paper and go through each channel, write down the missing ones, then go back and uncheck them.
The good news is that with cablecards, my digital starter expanded plus package, or whatever it's called, doesn't list that I receive HD, but I certainly do get several dozen starting around channel 700.
Good luck.

Yes, this definitely works for channels I receive.. I use it semi-often (when playing with QAM channels or the few OTA digital channels I sporadically receive).

Comcast is great and frustrating all at once.
