This episode made no sense.
If God, or whatever Powers That Be out there, gave Alison the ability to see the future (or past) in her dreams, He (They) had a good reason for it, right?
So why would He (They) tolerate a ghost who's a religious fanatic invading and corrupting Alison's dreams? Messing with His (Their) Grand Plan?
Doesn't make Him (Them) seem very omnipotent when they don't have your back.

I half expect Melinda Gordon to show up next week. :)
I agree that the episode was a little bit off script.

Melinda's not going to cut it with this guy. Alison needs the Winchester brothers to show up.

It's inching closer to a shark jump. I'm putting it on jumpwatch.

Alison & family don't seem particularly religious. I don't know that she's ever ascribed her powers to God, per se. Maybe she just has a genetic quirk that allows her to see these things--maybe it's not divine at all.
Anyway, as any good churchgoer will tell you, God's ways are mysterious and unknowable to us. Who says He doesn't have a grand plan? And who says the writers don't, for that matter? :-)
I'll let it play out before I decide whether it makes sense or not, personally.

Please explain both references. Is the first the woman from Ghost Whisperer?

I may be misremembering, but it seems to me that Allison has in the past thought that she was given these powers to be used for good. From God or not, I'm not sure.
If, however, you look at this story and hear the guy talk about being sent by God to mess with her mojo, it's not really that much more of a leap to figure this guy is really not an agent of God, as he claims, but an agent of the devil, and he's lying about 'who sent him'. At least that's how I've been looking at it.
I'll watch next week to see where this goes. Up to this point, though, it seems like another in a long line of episodes this season where the bad guy is getting away with it (whomever is actually doing the killing). I hope that's not how THIS story concludes.

Yes, Melinda is the lead character in Ghost Whisperer.
The Winchester brothers are the lead characters in Supernatural (on CW).
