I could not nor could Directv get this one to record. Bought a new card all to no avail. It works, just won't record. Still says that it is not have the service. DTV says it should be working so they sent me a DTV recorder for shipping. So I offer to you for this RCA DVR39 with cord for parts or experimentation. Best offer gets it. email or post with offer. I will make a decision by May 1st noon. Thanks for all your help!

Apart from the fact that this forum doesn't allow classified ads, these things can barely be given away when working, so what makes you think anyone will offer actual money for a broken one?

thanks for answering my question about selling stuff.. I bought it in a bundle of electronic stuff from a friend and I have yet to understand what makes tivo so great (sorry tivo people but look at my only tivo machine.) This place IS the only place I have found good information about Tivo but unfortunately I can't spend anymore time fiddling with this thing, much less, hack it. Maybe I'll keep it for next winter or pay to have it recycled (at the next parker recycling day at city hall my fellow parkerite...) Anyhoo... Isn't it funny that even growing up in "Equality Washington", Snohomish to be exact ;) there are still people who ASSUME techie's have to be guys..

It's a small, small world...

What makes Tivo so great? I think you'd really need a stand alone Tivo for that. If you don't have Directv then the one you have won't be of any use.
