Howdy Tivo Community!

Say - I have a new iPhone App that I would like reviews on as well as suggestions on what features you would like to see included in the next release. It's called "Web Remote" and with it you can control your Tivo Web Project, or Tivoweb Project plus enhanced Tivo's.

If you have Tivoweb Project (or plus) loaded on your tivo, and have an iphone or ipod touch (who doesn't these days?) then here is my offer.

The first 5 people who want to try out my new app, use one of these codes. First come - first served:

(coupons used - email me if you want to be a beta tester for 1.1)

To use, Open iTunes, and go to the iTunes Store. Click Redeem from the Quick Links on the right side of the iTunes Store. Enter the promotional code to get your free copy of the application.

Hope you enjoy and I look forward to hearing your comments...

For those who tried it out - what do you think? Do you guys have any areas of improvement? Just looking for feedback before I make my decisions on what should be the next thing to add.

My HD unit is unmodified(and is my only box not in storage), so I left the download code for someone else to use. But out of curiosity can you post screenshots and/or describe the functionality a bit? Is it like the other TiVo Remotes available on the iPhone/Touch (which basically are just able to send the equivalent commands you'd find in IR remotes) or does it get into TWP features like remote season pass management, etc?

Right now - it emulates the remote by sending the proper html urls to the TWP. The problem with most web-app versions of the remote is they dont scroll right, and have the wrong zoom, and such. I wanted to create a remote that would have all the buttons on the screen at once as well as bigger buttons that I could virtually scroll up or down easily.

For 1.1 I want to add additional features, but I don't know what should be the priority. Here is the shortlist of things I am thinking about.

1: Easter eggs - being able to press 1 button on the iphone and have it unlock easter egg type of stuff like caller id, or skip ahead, etc...

2: program season passes and the like without looking using the tivo GUI

3: Different remote look and feel.

4: make your own remote

5: control more then one tivo.

6: diagnostics of the tivos health. (heat, uptime, etc)

7: controlling something other then tivo web remote. (basically any web based controlled device can be 'skinned' with my app)

Let me know what you think I should concentrate on to make this a useful app for you guys.

Will this work with a UK Series 1 TiVo, or does it have to be US based??? Any idea????

I've got a series 1, with TivoWebPlus Project installed - and I can access the standard web based interface from my iPhone over my wifi network, but the GUI is pretty tricky to use from the iPhone to say the least!

1.1 looks like it has some nice features as well.... especially the Easter Egg stuff ( I hate having to enable skip ahead manually!)

I'd love to beta test for you. I have an iPhone 2G jailbroken 8gig. The only issue is that I have no idea what TiVo Web Project is cause I never heard of it???
