The only thing that could have been better was to see Coach taken out, but it will be worth it to see him scramble next week. And I've changed my mind about Coach: he can be BOTH mentally ill and an jerk.
Sierra seemed as surprised as Tyson when he went down.

Yeah, it was fortunate happenstance that she voted for Tyson as well.
Tyson made the biggest error a contestant can make on Survivor—too much hubris. He was too sure of his position and it cost him.

only thing better would be cbs not letting us in on the secret. When it's so obvious someone is a target, and they emphasize it, it turns out to be not true.

Now that I think of it, Sierra didn't have to be in the plan. They had Taj, Stephen, Erin, and JT vote for Tyson. Sierra couldn't vote for herself, so Debbie, Coach and Tyson couldn't stop it at all.
Ha ha! Now they're playing the game. Coach is going to be so fun to be around..lol he'd better spend alot of time doing his Chong Ram to build up his Warrior Spirit :)
If I were Sierra I'd make Coach kiss some major ass for the next week :)

Yep, she just happened to vote for the person she liked least. JT might think Sierra will go next, but she's actually going to be the swing vote now. Funny how you go from most vulnerable to most important that quickly.

Yeah at this point in the game it always gets interesting because new alliances form every week. People in a 3 or 4 team alliance don't want to be #3 or #4 so they'll form a new alliance where they think they are #1 or #2.

Sierra won't be a swing vote: the best she can do is get another vote for Coach. The alliance of Taj, Steven, Erin, and JT could take it to the final four now: I see Coach, Debbie, and Sierra going in that order. But who knows? JT might have the next target on his back.

Stephen is in a pretty good place right now. He's not perceived as a big threat, but allied with the right people. He's not horrible at challenges either. He's probably good at fire building being off by himself at Exile a couple of times, just in case there's a tie in the finals. And he's probably the best strategist out there (which isn't saying much, but still).

One of the best lines was Jeff at the reward challenge saying, "Coach, you continue to lose out on all these nice rewards. All that life experience not helping you out here."
^^ Jeff's way of calling BS on coach. Jeff knows Coach is all an act. Coach actually believes his BS, but also knows and believes if he keeps forcing and reinforcing that will power of his over other players who really buy his BS they will be easy to sway. Amongst a group of strong willed people with common sense and discernment, and taking place away from this game, Coach wouldn't last 5 seconds and no one would even acknowledge him.
Coach's lame response, "you know, (then he makes a lip smacking sound preparing for his condescending rebuff) I didn't line up boards like this in the Amazon."
Hey, jackass, rewards, plural, you haven't won... and life experience coach claims to have, since coach is at one with the universe, should have afforded him several wins.
What extremes though as tonight made up for last weeks disappointment.
While I dislike and was annoyed by SIerra tonight, I dislike Tyson even more. Another Kenny from last season , Tyson is. He needed to go. COach next, Taj(screw her for the betrayal last week), then Steven. What a season it could have been if Brendan and JT could have gone to the final three.

Well, when everyone was questioning voting off Brendan last week, it seemed obvious to me (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=7216603#post7216603) that Taj, JT & Stephen had the upper hand. Timbirra was fractured into at least three groups (Coach/Tyson, Brenden/Sierra & Eryn). Jalapao has taken the head off two of those dragons and is in complete control :D
I'm curious, has one tribe that was outnumbered so much in previous seasons been able to take control of the game?

I don't think JT has as much to worry about. Timberra made the mistake of fracturing and lying to each other before getting ride of the other tribe. Jalapao saw this and took advantage. In reality, there wasn't really a turn of the tide, it's just one tribe systematically voting out the other :D

Now THAT was gratifying!!!
I thought for sure as Tribal played out and they went to vote that it would be another one of those "we're really making it look like something awesome is going to happen here when really Sierra is just going to get thrown to the dogs" Survivor moment. It was GREAT to see votes show up for Tyson! :D Finally, a satisfying ending to that type of 'perceived' scheming where it really turns out to be not just editing!
Loved the shot of Taj crossing her eyes. Loved even more the looks on the faces as the votes were read! I wonder how animated Tyson might wind up being on the jury. May still get a few laughs from him.

The look on Sierra's face was great. She doesn't have much personality. Her biggest redeeming quality seems to be the ability to stay skinny, not much else.
Tyson was and is still funny. I think the game can turn a little mean, but he was still funny. He got way too cocky.
JT ROCKED at Tribal. He didn't give anything away.
Steven looked great this episode. He knew what his job was, go to Immunity Island for the chance at another idol. He didn't bitch or moan. Sure it sucks, but he was doing it for the game. He isn't a weak dude anymore. He might be the most improved 'person' of the game. Always was a good person, but now seems to be much stronger.
Brandon was laughing, he loved it.
Coach, Debra, Erin, Taj then Steven and JT at Tribal. Depending on how feelings go, I would assume JT to win.

Loved the opening helicopter shots as well. Only wish the chopper would've finished the shot by swooping down and ending Coach's stay on Survivor - although I'm sure he's survived countless random helicopter attacks in his life, grabbing the spinning blades with his bare hands and then chewing them off and escaping once again. What a dink.

There odds definitely improved this week, but I still don't see them having the upper hand just yet. It makes last week's vote look less like a mistake, but it doesn't seem that they actually thought ahead to this point since they were all ok with Sierra going until Erin gave them a new idea. They are still 3 people in a 7 person game. Is Erin not going to realize that she is fourth in that group? I wouldn't be surprised if she flipped on them. She had no loyalty to her original tribe or to anyone other than herself. Now that Tyson's gone, JT is the biggest physical threat.

From the preview
It looks like he comes to her asking her to put the old tribe alliance back together and she says something like. Well, but you voted for me.

Coach needs to go to exile next week. He could do all the meditation he wants without the audience he craves.
BTW, the only one I don't blame for eating at the immunity challenge is Stephen. He sacrificed and went to exile and knew he was not on the chopping block. Eat, boy...eat.
Coach? Simply arrogant.
JT? Dude, you just ate big at the feast...play the game.

Yeah flipping the 'Made Your Bed' and 'Trust' speeches back at Coach would be viewing gold but I don't think Sierra hasn't shown herself to be the kind of person that calls out other peoples BS.
What is Sierras plan tho thru the next rounds. Ideally if she could get past her hate of Erinn they could make an alliance and bring Taj in for a 'girls vs boys' after they get down to five. JT and Stephen are tight and there might be room to persuade Taj that neither of them would bring her into final two.

Well from the context of his statement, I think he meant that the more people there were competing against Sierra, the less chance there was of her winning.
And who knows? It could have led to a very interesting story about being in a life and death situaiton where the only way out was to challenge the chief of the tribe to just EXACTLY that type of competition and his beating the previously undefeated chief was the only thing that saved his ass.
Oh, that and the fortuitously timed ride out of there on the military helicopter that he got a free ride on by pulling strings! :D

You're more than likely right, but I still wouldn't really feel safe if I was on the tribe that was outnumbered. They pulled off miracle blindsides two weeks in a row, but they need two more before they are a majority. Erin and Coach were aligned last week, and Sierra tried to align with Coach this week. Next week, who knows what they might do.

I was so glad to see them vote off Tyson. He really crossed the line and was so mean spirited. Plus, they had to get him off before the physical immunity challenges came back and he won them all again. I can't wait to hear Coach try to backslide next week. Kudos to the majority.

But they didn't know if they had JT. He was the swing vote, and could have forced it to a tie if he chose to go with the "Warrior Alliance."
He seems like a pretty safe bet to take to the finals. Who would vote for him? He's such a tool. I hope that even people allied with him can see that.
As much as we viewers think he's a tool because we get to see his confessionals, it appears that many of the players in the game actually like him. They could have blindsided him this week but chose Tyson instead. They only chose Coach last week because Tyson had immunity. I think we're seeing all his comments that make him look like a fool, but if you're with him 24 hours a day, he's probably not a bad guy to be around.
I've liked Tyson from the beginning of the season, but it was satisfying to see him get blindsided. His cocky schtick was funny, but it was wearing thin.
Stephen is playing a masterful game. When he said to JT, "Every season someone goes on a run. Let's get rid of Tyson and that someone could be you," I said to my wife, "He's very smart." Playing to JT's vanity is probably what turned the tables on this episode (and perhaps on this whole season).

Sierra is so weak, that I think Coach can convince her to go back with him in an alliance...Debbie is with Coach for better or for worse...Erinn's fight with Sierra remains a big play...
Sierra is now in the power seat...not because she's a swing vote, but because she is now as good, or better, than Coach as the one you most want to be sitting next to at the final tribal...

Judging by the Ponderosa videos, neither Brendan nor Tyson are upset about being blindsided--more like amused and slightly embarrassed. I think they'll be voting for the best player, and Sierra's been tagged as a weak player since the first week. Though, I think there's sort of a collection of players at the bottom that are no more distinguished than she.
Of those left, only Coach and JT have made any noise in the game, and noise gets votes, but it also gets you evicted.
Steven is in a position to make a move. He needs to dump JT at some point, but timing is everything. Next week is too early for him, but if JT is exposed the other players should pounce like they did on Tyson--if they don't, it's because JT has found himself in the position of the annointed one that the other players want to see win if they don't (like the old guy last year, who was both well liked and good at comps).

Another thought. Everybody seems to have forgotten about the 2nd immunity idol.
Not only that one (which Taj/Stephen have), but I'm curious why Stephen immediately discounted the idea that they might have put Brendan's idol back into the game. He already knows where to look. I'm not sure why he didn't at least go check to make sure there's not another one there. (Or maybe he did, and he was right that there wasn't one there, and there was no point in showing it.)

Wow...I let this one sit on the TiVo for way too long... Just watched...
That was the most satisfying Survivor that I have watched in a long time, and definitely sits up near the top of my favorite all time eps...

Just caught up on the Ponderosa videos...
It's great how Tyson and Brendan are able to leave the game behind and seem to be getting along so well... I remember last season where everyone continued to hold a grudge during the Ponderosa...

If the producers had more interesting footage of players other than coach they would show it. Whether you find him interesting or not it's obvious that there was no one else worth showcasing.
It's not obvious to me since they aren't showing much of anyone else. The small bits they do show of the other players I find interesting and entertaining...I just wish there was more of the others and less of Coach. But "obviously":D the producers agree with you.

Well sure, not everyone will agree but the producers always pick what they feel is the most interesting footage for every episode of every season. I can't imagine they would say "Well this Debbie footage is great but let's show coach anyway even though it's not as interesting".
Of course it's subjective and I'm as sick of coach as anyone but I really doubt there are a lot of great stuff that they don't show because they are too focused on him.

Speaking of Debbie, good job on the backflips! Too bad most of them lost their feast after the dancing.

I just LOVED watching the smug smile disappear off of Coach's face during the vote count! Awesome.
A slayer should be more modest anyway
One of the best lines was Jeff at the reward challenge saying, "Coach, you continue to lose out on all these nice rewards. All that life experience not helping you out here."
I"m glad jeff finally brought that up. It annoyed me to hear coach brag about his ventures but him not really being able to apply that vast knowledge here
Can you imagine Coach's final words?
There's be a special hour long episode for that.
if you watch hell's kitchen, you will know the person i'm talking about when i say if that person was on survivor, it would be an hour long parting speech!
But I think coach's speech will be simple: "the slayer has been slayed"

But I think coach's speech will be simple: "the slayer has been slayed"I cannot imagine he would be so aware in the moment to be that guy and admire that he got beaten when he was so sure that he was superior.
Brandon and Tyson seemed so at ease with being blindsided because they realized it was just a game and not a referendum on who they are as people.
The reason Randy and Corrine were so entertaining last year, and they still held the in-game animosity when they got to the Ponderosa, is that they took it so seriously and believed their own BS.
Coach falls into that category. Somewhere, in his mind...he is The Dragon Slayer. You are talking about a guy who does so much on his own and in his own mind. All of the meditation is him living in his own head. All of that solo kayaking is him living in his own head. He spends so much time in his own head that you can't blame him for making it as delusional/kick ass as possible.

Sorry folks, Coach is the reason to watch this show. He's a great villain and good TV. It won't be the same without him around. I hope he survives a few more weeks.

I predict Coach goes to the final 3 and gets 0 votes from the final jury.

Are we thinking there will be a Final Three or Final Two this season? They went to the Merge with 10 players and then Joe got evacuated. That left 9. Brendan was the first member of the jury, then Tyson. If they go to a final 3, there will only be 6 members of the jury to vote on the finals. Based on that, I'm guessing this season is a Final Two season.

Maybe America is the 7th Juror.

If they go to a final 3, there will only be 6 members of the jury to vote on the finals. So what? Or are you saying that they wouldn't want to have a possible tie? (They've allowed that possibility (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivor:_Micronesia#Voting_history) in the past)

Yes, I know there has been the potential for a tie in the past. In fact, with three finalists, they could have a tie even with an odd number of jurors. But have they ever had only six jurors? Seems like in the seasons with three finalists, they started the jury earlier than 9.

No, I want him on the Ponderosa so I can watch him bitch like a girl like Kenny did last year.
