I connected my TIVO HD from the coaxial on the wall in my new apartment that I'm renting in has FIOS service alreadly but I re-ran my guided setup and now I have a black screen with no video. I called FIOS and they said cause they're signal is all digital and that is why I wont get any video on the low # channels unless I have a cablecard or a box. I told him I have my installer coming in 2 days. But he was unsure of a TIVO's workings if I would get video. When I went through this with cablevision I had video on the low # channels before I got may cablecard.
I called TIVO and told them what FIOS said and she wasn't sure then asked another rep and came back and said that b/c it's FIOS that is why this is happening; and what FIOS said is correct.
Could some please verify this for me cause now I'm worried and I have to still find out from my landlord where the line for my coaxial jacks come from; weather it may be the junction box on the side of the house or if its split off the line in his house. Cause if there is a problem and its split off his line then he may need to be home for the tech if he's out and the tech needs to get in his house then I'm screwed. But on the other hand if it's split off his line in his house and his stuff works then mine should too.
Any help is greatly appreciated
