DVRUpgrade / VideoRedo reseller - a scam???

So I ordered VideoRedo Suite from DVR Upgrade, downloaded it from the link in the order form, installed it, and guess what?

It's a trial!

There is no key on my DVRUpgrade order form, and all the e-mails I received from DVRUpgrade have no key at all.

I submitted a help desk ticket to DVRUpgrade, but I'm really disappointed in this. The VideoRedo site is instantly responsive when requesting a trial key, so I'm sure it's instantly responsive when purchasing directly from them.

So just an FYI to anyone else, I'd recommend you stay away from DVRUpgrade for purchasing VideoRedo software, and purchase directly from the VideoRedo site. Fortunately I purchased with PayPal so I can dispute it, but how lame is that?

No, it is not a "scam". You should have received 2 emails from DVRUpgrade (an email with the Subject titled "DVRupgrade Order Confirmation" and another email titled "VideoReDo TVSuite License Token").

I bought VideoReDo Suite from the folks at DVRUpgrade last week. Within a minute or so, I got the email from DVRUpgrade with the "License Token Key" and a link to VideoReDo's token key registration site. I went there, used the License Token Key and was able to license my copy within just a few minutes. Looks like you are missing an email if all you got was the Order Confirmation message.

Honestly they have some of the best Support I've ever had on a similar issue. A few years ago (About 2 or 3 I'd guess), at 2 am I got an immediate reply from Lou (the owner) and had a nice chat with him. It turned out they had an issue on their end with their token server. He couldn't fix it until the morning and I got a new token before noon the next day. I know it was a coincidence but to get the owner personally at 2 am and get a reply within 5 minutes of the support request has yet to be matched. :up::up::up:
