On my old Sony Series 1 Tivo I was able to program the remote to control the power for both my TV and stereo. I've been looking around and have been unable to duplicate thus feat on the remote that came with my Tivo HD.
Is it possible?
Thanks!

yes, from tivo central, go to messages & settings, then settings, then remote & follow on screen instructions

Yeah, did that. I can control the volume on the stereo and the power on the TV but not the power on the stereo. That's the problem.

Your forgetting a step:
1. press and hold TIVO & TV POWER, enter TV code
2. press and hold TIVO & MUTE, enter AUD receiver code
3. press and hold TIVO & TV POWER, enter AUD receiver code again

Just wanted to point out that the Sony TiVo remotes are the far superior JP1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JP1) rather than the goofball peanut.
If you are brave you can actually reprogram the Sony remote to control your THD!

Thanks for the tips. The missing step solved the problem.
Ciper... I've very interested to hear more about reprograming the Sony remote. It's a MUCH better remote, and I have three or four of them! In fact, I was just using my Sony Series 1 Tivo at my office a little while ago and thinking how much more I liked the remote.
Thanks!

There are TONS of people like us who realize the superiority of the Sony remote over the POS peanut. While searching for that thread I saw many many many people who agree.
