I've done some searches but haven't found anything about this yet. It appears an update is coming to at least some Series 2s (model 240 in my case). The version changed from 9.3.2a.... before to 9.3.2b.A1-01-2-140 . Not sure if I'm 'lucky' to be early or what, but am not in beta program or anything.

The Updating process after restart where the TiVo is not usable took about 30 mins, about twice as long as the last minor update. There was no update message after this update, and there is no immediately obvious change. The pause "enhancement" is still there. :(

I see in the forums S3 users are getting an update. Could this update be some sort of compatibility for users who have both S3s and S2s? I don't have any S3 units on my account. Could it be to help support more granular anonymous statistics reporting? Usually an a to b change wouldn't be anything substantial. Maybe someone from TiVo will be good enough to tell us.

Congratulations. It appears that you have been selected to be in the initial early release of this new version. "a" to "b" indicates that it's just a minor change, probably to clean up some issues. If you and your fellow "selectees" have no problems with this it will probably roll out to others in a few weeks. This release is reportedly only for S2 broadband users.

This popped up on one of my boxes yesterday.

Nothing different but unless 9.x goes to 10.x I am not expected to see anything.

Can someone check to see if Tivo added 'folder play' with this update?

What is it for? They aren't saying. I guess it is up to us to experiment and find out, or just wait and see what they announce after it is fully deployed. It could be bug fixes signaling the end of S2 development, it could be support for unannounced features, it could be tweaks to better support features like MRV between S2 and S3 platforms, or it could be something completely different.

Generally b releases don't add any major new features. It is most likely only a bug fix release.
