DirecTV logo burn in

Hi -
I am starting to see the DirecTV logo ghosting behind most shows.
It's the DirecTV logo that's bright white in the upper left corner of all the DirecTV / Tivo menu screens.

It's really annoying that DirecTV has the logo in the exact same place on every screen and in bright white. While this is probably made worse by my slightly older plasma - is there anything Tivo or DirecTV can to to correct their placement or make it not have such an impact ?

I doubt you'll see any future software updates to address that "problem". Perhaps your TV's brightness/contrast settings are too high?

Yea, most likely your brightness and contrast are set to "torch" mode which will burn in images. Even with an older plasma that were more apt to burn in, if properly calibrated it should be very rare for it to happen, unless you leave a menu up for hours on end.

I would also be concerned with the bottom banner that the news channels use all of the time. My RPTV shows evidence of burn in. Not to mention the bright channel logos that are used.

I apparently watch a lot of ESPNHD because if you look closely at my plasma you can see the side ESPNHD logos they use when showing non-HD materials as well as the bottom banner that runs across constantly. It doesn't bother me though because you don't notice unless the screen is dark and you are looking very closely.

ESPNHD hmmm, never noticed but on my old rear projection the bars on the sides were burned in.

Not long now that I'm aware of it, but I sometimes will pause a show and walk away from the TV (GASP!).

What really irks me is when I'm doing updates for season passes or looking for interesting shows - browsing for 15-20 minutes through channel listings, genres and such - the logo stays fixed in the upper left on every screen.
