where to get cable cards

Does ANY one now where I can get the Cable Cards for my TIVO ? because I'm having a super hard time getting them . I live small town Maine small Cable Company ! I called them and they said they don't have them ? so I'm Lost ? If I can't get any cable cards I might as well return my Tivo ?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE any one I got 2 slots on the front for one M-Card or 2-S cards

I believe they are specific to your cable company. You can't just take a cable card and put it in and it will work. They are like cable boxes without the PPV.

Although it is mandatory that cable companies provide cable cards, some small companies were exempted (temporarily). Ask your cable office when it expects to have these cable cards available, if known. It is simply a matter of time before your cable operator will have them.

I'd be surprised if a "Mom'n'Pop" cable company without cable cards has even converted to digital yet. They may still be feeding only analog signals. If so, then the TiVo should be able to tune all unscrambled channels on both tuners, even without cable cards.

TiVos cannot unscramble encrypted content, nor map program guide data to digital cable channels, without CableCARD.

Run Guided Setup on your TiVo telling it you do not have cable cards. If all the channels you expect show up then you are good to go.
