I have a series 1 tivo. To make it work with the dtvpal dtv converter, I told it I had digital cable. It works for most channels, but there are two that are listed on digital cable as a different channel number than they are on the dtv converter. I was wondering if I can somehow remap them so that when I select those channels in the guide or for season passes/recordings, the tivo will send the right channel number to the dtv box.

I have read about tivo hacking and network cards/case modifications. I was hoping it could be done with a pc and serial connection. Or better yet, within some advanced tivo hidden feature menu.

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

It can likely be done with what is called serial bash. In addition to making/getting the serial cable, you will need to enable the serial console by enabling it in the TiVos boot files. This means installing the drive in a PC, booting a custom Linux CD, and modifying said boot files, and adding some files to make things easier.

Search for "Steve Jenkins TiVo Howto" for the details and files needed.
