just got my 810 today learning about it as fast as this old brain works. one question how do I see the second tuner. I see live tv with tuner one but cannot figure out how to watch live tv on tuner two. I have 2 sat receivers hooked up to the tivo and when I bypass the tivo both sat receivers are working. Any help is appreciated thx

The Pioneer TiVos have only one cable ready tuner, for analog cable and analog Over The Air (OTA) broadcasts. The analog OTA capability will soon be worthless, because all stations will stop broadcasting analog. However, you can use a Digital TV (DTV) converter box to record the High Definition (HD) broadcasts in Standard Definition (SD).
Unless I'm very much mistaken, all Series 2 Single Tuner (S2ST) TiVos, including the Pioneers, can only control one external device at a time. The Pioneer TiVos do have 2 inputs, but only one is active for scheduled recordings. The second input is used for recording from a VCR, DVD player or other source, and must be manually activated. I've used this a little to record from old VCR tapes to my Pioneer TiVo. You have to navigate through the menus to "Record from VCR."
The Series 2 Dual Tuner (S2DT) TiVos can control 2 sources, but one has to be controlled by the serial control cord and the other by the IR-blaster control cord.
So in short, you can only use one input on the Pioneer TiVo for scheduled recording (Wishlists and Season Passes). The other input can be used to "Record from VCR".
Hope that helps,

The menu to select the "VCR/Camera" input is in "Find Programs", and labled something like "Record from A/V input".

I have a Pioneer 810 & a Pioneer 57. I transferred a show from the 810 ... I
bought a 2nd 810 with 300 hours for the same price as my new 57 with ... quad
tuner, Dolby Digital 5.1 -- not compatible with TiVo Home Media ..... From past
experience, I know I won't get help from either Pioneer OR TIVO. ...

No TiVo is more than dual tuner. No DVD combo TiVo is more than single tuner (the RF tuner, STB input, and VCR/Camera input share one encoder).
DVD combos are Series 2, so are fully compatible with HMO/HME/MRV /TTG/TTCB when subscribed to the paid TiVo service.
If you are wondering about transferring programs over the network to burn to DVD on the other TiVo, that has never worked, and likely never will.
Rule of thumb, if it is a software/service issue, you get support from TiVo, hardware support through Pioneer. You can get help with the TiVo models here.
