I have a PTVnet upgraded HR10-250 in excellent condition running 3.1 software. I have a Linksys WGA54G wireless adapter and Linksys USB200M Ethernet to USB adapter. All cables, new remote, card etc. Where would be the best place to list and for how much? I was thinking eBay.

Here's a classified section on the other forum.

Check eBay for what other units have sold for.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that it is frowned upon by the tivo hacking community to sell a hacked unit, unless you designed the hack yourself. Reason being, the people who devoted a lot of time for these hacks which we all enjoy, will not be compensated, yet you will reap additional benefits by advertising it with the upgrades which they designed, for instance, networking enabled, which was never supported by DirecTV ro Tivo on the HR10. That said, I'm not trying to cause anyone a problem, just passing on info...

It's generally considered ok to sell your personal box with hacks, just not to sell hacked boxes as a business. However, the community also frowns on the support issues this raises, as the buyer inevitably needs help in resolving a problem with hacks they do not understand - the usual advice there is to start over with a known good build (InstantCake or the like).
In the past, I have restored boxes to an "official" configuration before selling them as I did not want to have to support hacks down the road. Users interested in hacks can easily add them back.

OK. Well any suggestions? I am not using this box anymore. It works great and is in excellent condition. I hate to just throw it away.

I sold 2 recently on ebay for $150 each + shipping. They were stock, and running 6.3.*. I wiped them clean with C&D command. Don't forget to remove from active status on your account. I wouldn't throw it away, that's for sure; they are worth some money, even if you only get $50-70 for it. But someone can activate it, and then after a little bit of time, can prob get a free upgrade to a new mpg4 hd-dvr, so maybe suggest that possibility in your advertisement/listing.

This.
I don't have any hacked units at the moment and if I did, I'd put them back to "stock" before selling them. The nightmare I had supporting one after a sale was not worth the money.

OK thanks. Well hopefully somebody can use my HR10-250. I'm not using it. It's in excellent condition. I don't have a computer anymore with an IDE interface to even mess with the drive. Guess I'll try Craigslist or something. Anybody here want it? Make me an offer. I also have a SD-DVR40.
