I haven't used Desktop in awhile and have a new pc now. So I just downloaded version 2.7 and everything is running fine in that Desktop and the Tivo are talking to each other (downloaded current NPL into TD).

To move videos from my PC to the TIVO, I used to just put them in the "My Tivo Recordings" folder under my documents, then when I went into the NPL, there would be a little folder at the bottom with my network name on it, and I would find my video in their to download. Now I'm not getting anything. Is this no longer possible to do with the regular version of the program?

If it should be working, what am I doing wrong?

Before you do anything else, try re-starting everything. I go through this about once a month when the same thing happens to me. It might be a router issue on my side, I'm not sure.

Restart your pc, router, and tivo.

I can reset the pc and tivo but not the router.

I don't get it because the Tivo and Tivo Desktop clear recognize each other since i was able to move a recording from the Tivo to the PC...

You can't re-start the router? This is usually what ends up fixing my problem (though sometimes I must also restart the Tivo to pick the connection back up).

I'm using all 3 Tivos with the Tivo wireless adapter and am using the very common Linksys WRT54G with it's original firmware.

One other question... are you using Vista? I've had weird issues like that on my Vista machine.

I mean I could restard the router if I absolutely had to, but it's up stairs in my landlords house and seeing as how our internet connections has been working flawlessly for the first time since we set it up, I'm inclinded to not F with it unless I have to.

Can you confirm that it IS still possible to do the PC-->Tivo transfer with REGULAR Tivo Desktop and not just Plus?

I'm also unable to view photos or play music that I uploaded into Tivo Desktop. I remember if you go into Music, Photos, and More, on the bottom of the list I'd see "(Network Name)'s Photo's" and "(Network Name)'s Music". That isn't showing up either.

For the videos, I dowloaded Videora and converted three test files and put them all in the My Tivo Recordings folder. The icon is still not showing up in the NPL.

So at this point, I can transfer recordings from the tivo to the pc, but if I go on the Tivo, I can't view photos or play music that should be published, and I can't get the icon to come up in my NPL.

?? How is it connecting one way but not the other?

I don't know, but I've had the same issue with my Vista PC. I usally have to reboot everything to get it to work.

The difference here, though, is that I don't use Tivo desktop. I can't stand it.
(I'm actually a registered, purchased, owener of Desktop Plus but I gave up on it long ago.)

I use Galleon for home media playback and PyTivo for transferring other videos to my Tivos. Both run fine under Vista.

(I suspect an odd "permissions" issue with Vista, in my case, actually, but I'm still baffled as to why sometimes I seem to get this one-way-only communication and why rebooting everything, including the router, seems to fix it.)
