Tivo Desktop Plus PC to Tivo transfer quality

There's no trial available for the PC to Tivo conversion/transfer.

Can anyone speak to the quality of the conversion.

Could I take a HD divx video and convert it so it's still high def on my tivoHD?

I would suggest using pytivo to start with and see if you like the quality. It is always free, and likely will suit your needs better. Go to this thread (http://pytivo.krkeegan.com/updated-windows-installer-betas-t512.html) and download the latest wmcbrine pytivo installer. Then go to his git repository (http://repo.or.cz/w/pyTivo/wmcbrine.git) and download the zip file for the latest version.

Install pytivo using the installer. After that is complete, unzip the zip file into the pytivo directory that you created from the installer (let it overwrite everything). You will need to know your MAK for the pytivo setup (localhost:9032) if you want to be able to pull shows down from your tivo using pytivo.

If you want to be able to push h.264 (.mp4) files to your tivo without transcoding, you will need to add your tivo.com username and password (tivo_username and tivo_password) to the [Server] section of your config file (can also be added from the web interface [localhost:9032]). Once you get that done, you can push (from the web interface) h.264 files without needing to transcode to Series3/TivoHD/TivoXL.
