just received a brand new TIVO hd in the mail today. upon going through the setup it gets to the dialing part of the setup and the unit stops sending a signal to the tv. i've set up 2 other units today and not had any problems. any suggestions? thanks in advance!

Try pulling the power and running setup again. If the same problem happens again, then that unit could be defective.

I bought one about a month ago.
Out of the box it didn't output video, just the menus.
It took 3 dialin's, and I'm assuming 3 software updates before I could see video behind the menu's, as well as Live TV.
Also took 3 dialin's before it would accept the TiVo wireless adapter.
2 days of having a phone cord strung across the room.

jayNot sure if this will help, but if you're getting to the part of the setup where it asks if you can see video behind the menu...and the screen is black, try telling it "yes". I don't know why but I've seen that happen several times and each time everything was fine when it was done.
Might be something else that you're dealing with, but thought I'd pass it along.
