I just swicthed over from Optimum to FIOS last week and ever since have been having major problems with Tivo desktop. When I open Tivo Desktop and choose pick recordings to transfer I get the message "There was an error while attempting to retrieve data from the selected DVR. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."
I'm pretty sure it's due to FIOS's router configuration which I cannot figure out (but I could be wrong). Does anyone else use FIOS and was able to successfully configure the supplied router?

I have FiOS, use the Actiontec router, and successfully use the TiVo Transfer app that's in Roxio Toast 9 on my iMac. I didn't have to do anything to the router settings for it all to work.

They gave me the MI424WR router. You didnt have to configure any ports /firewall? Could the problem be something besides the router?

How is your TiVo connected? Wired or wireless?

the Tivo is connected wirelessly. Now I'm getting a message saying "There are noTivo DVR's available on the network". However, in the "now playing list" all recordings are present.
I'm stumped here.

ok so now after exiting and retstarting the tivo server over and over again, I was able to at least start a transfer. However, it would not get passed 0% and after about 5 mins it will fail and I'll get a msg saying "An internal error has been detected, but the source is unknown."

ok so after messing with the settings for my router for hours I finally fixed this problem in case anyone should have it. I disabled WEP and now everything works fine.
