When the drive failed on my Series 2, 24004A, 40 hr. Tivo, I bought a new dual tuner machine. Now, the question is whether or not to repair the old machine. Can I get a 40 hr. drive like the original one, pre-loaded with software, for less than the cost of a 80 gb upgrade drive and, if so, where? (I hate throwing things away.)

Does the unit have lifetime service ? if not dump the TiVo, if yes it would easy to get a drive with the correct software if the hardware still works.
