Is it supported? After long debugging session trying to upgrade to 2.7, my tech support guy claims it's not supported. I say the release notes say Vista which I take to mean Vista (all versions).

Who is right? And can someone from TiVo respond?

Thanks. Kent

I installed and ran Tivo Desktop 2.7 and Plus key for a few days under Vista 64 not too long ago and it worked OK for me. Normally however I prefer to use 3rd party tools (pyTivo, streambaby, kmttg) instead so didn't use it very much, but all the basic functionality was working (pulls, auto pulls, pushes, transcoding, etc). I uninstalled it a few days ago as I don't like to have all those services running when I don't use the software anyway.

I have been using Tivo desktop 2.7 on vista x64 with no issues. Are you running SP1 for vista?

I am running SP1. My biggest "oddity" is that I use a smaller "C:" drive (150G) my users & public are on a big "D:" drive. The only other install problem I've had was with an old package (vintage 2004) with some 16-bit parts.

The install gets right to the end before choking. TD 2.6.2 is de-installed, TD 2.7 shows up in the installed programs list, but the installer then fails.

You don't seem to be the only one reporting installation troubles with non-standard partition or drive layouts, make sure TiVo support knows about that when you call. They will need to know your setup so they can test to make sure the next installer can handle setups like yours. You could also go to the TiVo website and fill out a beta application so that you can hopefully be invited to test the next version and make sure it is right before they release it. My guess is that no current beta tester has that kind of layout and so they never found the problem.
