My Tivo is inside a gateway router that my computer is outside of. I forward ports 80 and 443 on the router to the Tivo, but how do I get TivoToGo on my computer to look for the Tivo at that router's IP (given that it's not on the computer's LAN)?
I really just want my computer to auto-download new shows from the Tivo, I don't need any of the other TivoToGo features, so if there's another solution please let me know!

You may want to read what it says on the Media Access Key screen of your TiVo...
The TiVo license agreement allows you to transfer content to up to ten devices within your household, but not outside your household. Unauthorized transfers or distribution of copyrighted works outside of your home may constitute a copyright infringement. TiVo reserves the right to terminate the TiVo service accounts of users who transfer or distribute content in violation of this Agreement.
I'm not saying that what you're seeking isn't possible, but if you were to do this -- you might want to know that you might be breaking the license agreement.

You can go directly to the TiVo's internal web server with that setup, but of course that wouldn't be automatic. Perhaps something like kmttg would do it?

As long as you have proper port forwarding setup (which sounds like you do) then in kmttg config you can specify the WAN side http port that you are forwarding to port 80 on the Tivo. That port will then be used for any WAN side http connections. If you used port 80 on WAN side then no need to specify it. My ISP blocks port 80 so I had to use a different port # on WAN side.

I'm not completely familiar with the TTG setup (since I have only DTivos that can't use it), but my understanding of the beacon protocol that tivos broadcast to the local LAN subnet makes me think that you will not be able to get the TTG client to 'see' the tivo. Same problem as trying to MRV between tivos on different subnets, they will never see the broadcasts from the other network.

Wow, kmttg is an excellent piece of software! It solves this problem -- and adds a lot of functionality I didn't even know existed.
Thanks guys!
