Why do my three favorite shows on TV have to suffer because of sports??
Once again I have to miss them because of sports. And not even something important like playoffs or the world series but car racing:mad::mad:(If you love car racing I apologise, but you wait forever to see these new episodes)
I realise it will always be this way, but one day perhaps Fox will remember they would not have these sports franchises if it were not for shows like "The Simpson's", "Family Guy" and "American Dad";) In fact If not for these shows and other ground breakers like "Married With Children" I don't think there would even be a Fox network:p
If you are wondering why I missed the shows its because I tivoed them. And was not home to see the 30 minute late start.
One way fox could appease me is they can offer the shows for a free download the same night that they get bumped. But we all know that ain't gonna happen either:mad:
/end of rant

With digital, they could have their affiliates carry the pre-empted shows on a sub-channel.
One local channel here runs a movie channel as a sub-channel, and yet still runs the main channel in 1080 (according to my digital tuner's readout).

Why do my three favorite shows on TV have to suffer because of sports??If they're really your three favorite shows, you should look to see what's preceding them each week and pad as necessary to be safe...
I feel lucky that I tried to watch The Simpsons at 8:35---otherwise I would have missed it, too...

Between the NFL on CBS and NASCAR on Fox, I stopped watching any Sunday Night shows. Too much bother to worry about padding every week.

With digital, they could have their affiliates carry the pre-empted shows on a sub-channel.Something tells me that doing so, either via "stealing" bandwidth from the main channel to broadcast on a sub-channel, or preempting regularly scheduled programming (even 24/7 weather reports) on a sub-channel, will evoke passionate objections, not to mention that the preempted programming will be broadcast in SD.

Was this Simpson's any good? Its plotline sounded very much like an old King of the Hill where Hank's insurance company didn't receive his premium check and he had to spend the whole weekend averting disasters around the house.
I didn't give it the necessary one hour pad so missed it, but wanted to see how similar it was to KOTH.
Will the American Dad episode be shown on Adult Swim soon?

It was an OK episode. But the stuff with Homer trying to avert disaster was kind of dumb. It was the other plot about Bart and the standardized testing that had much more laughs.

However, to answer the question, KoTH was, as normal, more sensible that The Simpson's play on the exact same setup.

Padded as much as I could but wanted to get the Tom Selleck so had to miss it. Not going to BT again. Got a virus that destroyed my hard drive last time.
