galleon problems in gentoo linux, no goback everything else ok

I am having an odd problem on a gentoo linux box with galleon.

Now the TiVo displays the apps that galleon is serving such as Music. In the gui, ToGo works.

The problem is that there is no entry on the TiVo for the goback files. However if I do a http://10.xx.xxx.xxx:8081/TiVoConnect?Command=QueryContainer&Container=/ from another machine, I get an XML page back as expected.

What port is used for the initial identification that results in the icon on the TiVo for togo files?

As far as I can tell, there are no obvious messages in the log file.

ipv6 is not compiled in the kernel and is not loaded as far as I can tell from checking using lsmod.

I've been playing around with the system (emerging some updates etc.). I swear at one point, I did get the goback folder to show up on the TiVo. However, that was a while ago.

Any suggestions as to how to debug? (I am currently re-emerging with a "-ipv6" use flag.)

IIRC, the applications are discovered via Bonjour/MDNS, but the GoBack stuff is announced by Galleon using the TiVo beacon protocols.
Not sure offhand why the beacon would be failing, though....

Well, the plot thickens!

I started wireshark and found that the beacons for both the tivo and the galleon server appear to be as expected.

HOWEVER, the tivo does the TivoConnect command to port 80 not port 8081! The beacon is announcing the correct port in its message, i.e., 8081. Strange to say the least.

(FWIW, I have a local apache2 server on port 80. Also squid and dansguardian are on the system also, but I don't think they are part of the problem at the moment.)

Any suggestions?

Installed galleon on a windows box. TiVo also does not see the goback folder for it either! The Wireshark sniffer could see the beacon so it should be making it to the TiVo. Also tried pyTiVo, no joy there either (although I am not sure I completely configured it correctly.)

TiVo is a TiVo HD XL running 11.0b-01-2-658. Any odd reports with that build. It looks like the TiVo is refusing to recognize a goback folder!

I'm working on some mods to Galleon to use Bonjour to announce the goback data. If you can build from sources, load the project's HEAD from sourceforge CVS and give it a try.

I'll give it a try, but it may be a few days before I get a chance. (Unless I can't get into work tomorrow due to the storm. Otherwise I'll be spending lots of quality time with my snowblower and fighting traffic on I495 and I93.)

Things are working. Part of the problem appears to have been user error. I was looking in the photos etc folder rather than now playing.
