another solid episode. the show has gotten back on track after a miserbale start with guest stars. the guests seem to work much better when they are embedded in the show rather than being a "star".

I didn't find this episode nearly as funny as the previous one. Tracy's riddle about Ken didn't even make sense.

Liz' comment about why she kept the 'adult' picture on her phone was classic. "I only kept it because they were pointing in the same direction for once!"

That reminds me: She said Drew took that picture. Drew is Jon Hamm's character. Are we supposed to believe that they're already so familiar that she's letting him take naked photos of her?
Drew's already seen the embarrassing things so a naked pic isn't a stretch.
+1 on the Selma Hayek zoom shot.

Well she told Jack she had sex 2 times already in 2009.. I assumed it was with Drew.

Good point. I forgot about that.

So here's my question... was Tracy genuinely insane on the Larry King show, or was that all an act to get himself booked on the much more watched Today Show, where he then "remembered" to give the proper TGS plug?
Could he be crazy like a fox?

I took it as he was genuinely crazy, and by the time he actually got the plug out for TGS, it was at a point where his name was so toxic that having him mention the show and being associated with it was actually worse than if he had never said it at all.

Seemed perfectly in character to me. When does Tracy ever make any sense?

For some reason this didn't show up in my guide data. The same thing has happened with Life recently.

Yeah that was pretty funny. I had to think if the timing was right though. Wasn't the noid commercials later on, like early 90's?

Jonathan beats me down, I think his character is all played out.

I loved the bottom ticker on the Larry King show.

I'd just like to say that Judah Friedlander's shirts continue to get cooler. Case in point - his Troma Films t-shirt (I believe it was a t-shirt for either Tromaville or The Toxic Avenger) in this episode.

Why are Judah Friedlander and the balding guy in the opening credits? They seem to get less than 10 seconds of screen time each episode (I started watching the show towards the end of spring 2008, maybe they had bigger roles previously).

They had bigger roles previously.
The show originally was about the behind the scenes stuff of the fictional TGS show, and there was a lot of focus on the writing staff and the TGS cast.
But then Tracy Morgan and Alec Baldwin started stealing the show, and the Liz/Jack chemistry was really working well, so the focus shifted more in that direction.

I think the whole show has kinda morphed. Didn't it used to be about a sketch comedy show? :)

And it was funnier then. The first season was pure genius after the lame pilot. Anyone notice that Josh is no longer on the show?

Josh was dark haired and slightly goofy looking, but he was one of the cast members of TGS, not a writer. Played by Lonny Ross (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0743622/).
A few episodes ago, Lonny Ross was in the first commercial that aired after the 30 Rock credits. That seemed sad to me. :)
