I'm hoping Norman/Nick leaves tonight. It's funny seeing Paula and Kara sitting next to each other after their little duel in the paper.

Results time.

Allison is in the top 12.

Jesse and Matt B. are not in the top 12.

Megan is not in the top 12.

Kris is in the top 12.

Matt G is not in the top 12.

Jeanine is not in the top 12.

Brooke White performance.

Mishavonna is not in the top 12

Kai is not in the top 12

Jasmine is not in the top 12

Final spot down to Nick & Adam.. Gee I wonder who will get it

Final spot goes to Adam, Simon apparently has a good relationship with the man upstairs!

I think you'll get your wish. With only 25% of the people making it through at this stage, you simply can't screw up, and most of these people did. It will be Adam, Allison, and one other, but not Nick/Norman. Probably one of the Matts or Jesse.

However, don't be surprised to see Nick/Norman get another shot on Wild Card night. He's at least entertaining enough for one more performance.

Wow. Kris was 6th according to DialIdol, although places 3-12 were all close enough to be within the margin of error.

Interesting that there are now 4 men and 2 women. Will be interesting to see if next week and the judges picks even that out.

Wait, which one was Kris?

I didn't like ANY of the guys last night, so that's disappointing...

Thank you Kamakzie for this great thread each year. I couldn't live without it.

However, I do hope Norman Gentle makes it. He's funny to watch.

Jesse didn't make it? That's messed up!

Only Allison deserved to move on in the group that made it. NONE of teh guys were good. Not a single one.

If Adam makes it then I got my three wishes this week. :-)

Of course he did. The little tween girls LOVE him, and they'll sit on their cell phones and vote all night until the lines shut down.

I was two for three this week... I guessed Kris and Allison.

I'm honestly not sure why people didn't like Kris, it was pretty good IMHO.

Yipee. This puts me in first place in our office pool.

Kris actually gave me goosebumps last night.

I am thrilled that he made it to the top 12.

Which song did he sing?

"Man In The Mirror," originally performed by Michael Jackson.

Am I crazy or was the opening group number lip synced? It just seemed a little too perfect and when they paired off for the duets it didn't seem like I recognized any individual voices. I could be wrong though. Probably am since it's two hours later and no one has brought it up.

Yea, he was probably the best of the guys. I seriously don't get teh love for that performance of Satisfaction. What a cheesy, corny performance!

Blech.

Wow, I find myself looking forward to Season 9.

I do really like Danny. And I have hope for Ju'Not. And it did look like next week had some hot blondes.

I'll keep watching.

They keep kicking out the hot chicks. :(

Adam is playing rock star dress-up. His might have been the worst version of "Satisfaction" that I've ever heard. I can't imagine for a second that he would dress and look like he does if he didn't think it would further his career. He seems completely fake.

Adam is totally cheesy. I loved Megan and thought Jesse was very good as well. I hope they make it via the wild card.

I was surprised about Kris, but I did think he was fairly decent and one of the more attractive idol guys. Since Clay Aiken was one of the shows biggest heartthrobs, the bar isn't set very high in the looks department. I know lots of teenage girls vote so most likely there will be two more guys next week as well. I wonder if the judges will pick three girls just to even things out.

Seacrest let us know tonight it was Top Male, Female and then the following top vote getter.

These people are still 'amateurs'; they're lucky they can get the choreography down.

Was really hoping Mishavonna would be the third as I really liked her performance. But I knew it was a long shot.

wow -- Kris who? He wasn't shown like ever so its huge for him to get through.

I would have put Mishavonna or Jesse before him

After Allison made it through and Ryan called out the next four contestants, it had be a guy getting through. And then when they removed Jessie and Matt, there was no way it would be Megan getting through. They already had a girl on a stool, and if Megan made it through, that would have automatically meant Jasmine and Mishovanna would not make it.

Yeah, the same one as the night before...

Does it bug anyone else, or is this filler/recap show at its best? Maybe we're not true Idol Fans, but we fast forward through the person singing the same song as the night before. Been there, done that.

Perhaps in later rounds with songs we loved, we'll watch again. I realize that the second singing might be done with less nerves and more freedom, but still...

Same song.

In a weird sort of way, it's better than last year in which the contestant getting eliminated gets to sing the song again. You know, the SONG THAT WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO GO THROUGH! In some cases, the judges say that it was a lousy song choice, and then tell the contestant to sing it again.

The singer going away should have the choice as to which song is sung - sometimes their best songs are earlier in the competition.

Except that they won't be ready to perform one of those songs. AI is basically throwing the eliminated person a bone, giving them one last chance to perform in front of millions of viewers, and they really should sing the song they're most prepared to sing, even if the judges said it was a bad song choice.

Having said that, I'm sure that if a contestant came to the producers and said, "Hey, if I ever get eliminated and have to sing, I want to sing X," they'd probably honor that. It's just that I doubt any contestants do that, and I doubt any of them spend time practicing a previous song in the event that they do get the boot.

And also, it's kinda funny to me when they ask the contestant about the song choice. Well, OF COURSE they thought it was a good choice, otherwise they wouldn't have picked it.

Plus I think the judges are often way too obsessed with song choice, and often wrong.

I don't think it was perfect at all. Look at Norman/Nick when they show him paired up for one line. He is looking at the other guy wondering what to sing and yet, the voices that we hear are spot on.

I saw the same thing from Nick -- but to me he forgot the words and was just mouthing until he caught on again? If everyone else was singing you wouldn't have noticed him dropping out

When I said it seemed too perfect it wasn't the lip syncing I was talking about. I meant the singing seemed a little too perfect for as difficult a song as it was.
And like someone else posted, some of the lips didn't seem very in sync.
