The look on Morgan's face as Chuck railed on him in the parking lot in front of everyone. Oh, I was in tears. Then Chuck explaining to Sarah that Morgan is family.....more tears.

And I have to say, as soon as the car drove off with the bomb in it, I knew Chuck had the remote. I mean, he's a geek...who would miss the chance to do that!

Great episode.

Hmm. I guess I'm the minority opinion...

HATED IT.

Not just a mild dislike, for me this was the absolute worst episode of Chuck so far. The script felt like a the worst fanfic possible, particularly the uber-cheesy end full of what I presume were supposed to be "awww" moments.

Beyond that, Yvonne seemed way off of her game. I don't know if it was the horrible script or just really bad directing (or both), but she didn't seem to act like Sarah this week. There was just something really, really off about her performance in this episode. The best way I could describe it: it was almost like she was just walking through the part, like she wasn't even trying in this episode.

The whole episode seemed like a cross between a bad fanfic, as I mentioned above, and an unaired pilot, where some of the actors haven't quite grasped what their character is supposed to be yet. and others are just one-dimensional.

Ugh. I can only assume next week's will be better.

Gotta disagree, Loadstar. I thought it was pretty well written and acted, though the plot devices were too obvious (remote control, tranquilizing breath spray).

Enjoyed pretty much all of it, with the highlight being the chick-fight between Sarah and the Dragon Lady.

I love this show, and I liked this episode, but I have to agree that Sara was a little off in this episode. Not sure what exactly it was, but something just felt odd about her in this one. But I guess that's how it is in real life, sometimes people have bad days and don't act like themselves.

This was the best episode of Chuck ever. Hands down. I actually lol'd three or four times. Thanks to whoever wrote and directed this episode.

(I've never used the term "lol" before this and hope I never do again.)

I rationalized it as she was feeling a bit uncomfortable around Chuck because she couldn't identify with the "best friend" vibe. That and she was mildly irritated that Chuck was obsessing about Morgan rather than the "mission." But she didn't take me out of the show because of her acting at all.

But geez, did she have some clown makeup on at the the end. That really made her unattractive to me.

No way I can call this the best Chuck...it was mediocre at best for me. Literally NO laugh out loud moments. And the "serious" stuff was not done that well.

I won't go so far as to say this was the worst Chuck ever, but it certainly wasn't the best. I found myself pretty bored by the end of the episode. The only redeeming feature is that Anna and Morgan are back together, which hopefully means more Anna in the upcoming eps.

I know Chuck has always been one of those shows where you just have to suspend your disbelief to get (Jeffster performing in the middle of a busy store while it was open? I don't think so in real life), but the whole scene with the Tridents coming to the Auto dealership to talk to the owner right in the middle of a big party was a bit much. If they were really good gangsters, the would want to be seen by as few people as possible. It was just too convenient for them to arrive the first time Chuck et al were looking for them.

Whilst this certainly wasn't one of the better Chucks -- ANY Chuck is better than most of the dren today.

I was waiting for Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker to follow them in.:D

I thought it was a good episode. I liked the "awww.." moments, and I thought Sarah's reaction at Chuck blowing up was genuine and believable. It didn't strike me as an episode that anyone would find either the best OR worst ever, so I'm a little surprised by the immensely different reactions. Just seemed like an average Chuck episode that was fun to watch...

Ellie was looking even better than usual, too.

Agree about the makeup at the end. I know they were trying to play up the fact that she'd been in a brutal fight, but she just looked odd.

I thought the bit at the beginning with Morgan, Jeff and Lester being "spies" and then being followed by the real spies was pretty funny.

Wow...a bunch of difference of opinion on this episode.

I really liked it. I mean, as much as we focus on the mystery of Sara, we seem to forget there seems to be mystery involving Chuck. He's only mentioned his parents a handful of times maybe and hearing the part about his mom taking off and Morgan being there for him was just a reminder of that. WTF happened to Chuck's parents?!?!?!

Also, it was nice seeing Anna back again.

I thought this was a great episode too. I loved Casey riding on the roof of the Nerd Herd car.

Of course Sarah looked weird at the end, she was supposed to be bruised and beaten up.

I agree that the actress that plays Sarah was doing it in a very morose manner this week, which I can't quite reconcile with the behavior of her character. Kinda weird.

BUT...

it feels like groundhog day every time I watch it now...at this point, I can write the show myself (gee...stay in the car, but good ole Chuck gets out of the car...etc.)...it's getting to be the same script every week...

and I agree that Sarah's makeup was terrible at the end...and I felt like she mailed it in (after all, she's done the same script for weeks now!)...

I really laughed at the part where Jeff was quoting the Eminem lyrics to try to convince Lester. I'm not sure what percentage of Chuck viewers would've caught that reference, though.

Also, naming the band "Jeffster", instead of "Jester" so they didn't look like fools. There must be a hundred different bands named Jester, so I found that pretty funny as well. This was probably the first week where I actually liked the Jeff & Lester characters.

I thought it was a solid-to-good Chuck ep - not the best, and not even close to the worst.

Thoughts:

- I think Yvonne was purposely a little wooden and "off" in the earlier scene with Chuck where he tried to describe what Morgan meant to him. As we've seen, Sarah had nothing even close to a normal childhood and she's probably never had a friend like that. (She even explained as much at the end of the show.) Plus, she's still dealing with the aftermath of her feelings for Chuck, and how they were heightened (and then dashed?) after the married-in-Fulcrum-suburbia-hell ep. So I think it's natural for her to be bit standoffish and aloof.

- I also liked that for once she got a little trashed in the fight with Smooth Lau - all too often she gets in these major brawls and comes out with nothing but a scratch on her.

- And that blue dress - Shazam! ;)

- I also agree with Indy that her tears at the end were some of the most believable I've ever seen.

- Even Casey got a little misty when he thought the Chuckster had just blown himself up. Who knew?

- How long until we get to see the phosphorous tennis ball grenades in action?

- I liked the Eminem homage motivational speech that Jeff gave.

No, It was supposed to go, Chuck v 3d, then v best friend, then v. suburbs. But they played it 3d, suburbs, best friend. That's why when Anna dumped morgan around christmas then they were magically together for valentines day only to be broken up and get back together in the best friend. It just messed up the continuity a bit. From here on out, they should be in order.

Absolutely recognized the Eminem lyrics. Had to explain to my kids what they were. I actually *gulp* own that CD.

Agree that Yvonne's acting near the end was great. My favorite part was actually not when she thought Chuck was dead, but instead right after he appears with the remote. Her struggle to get ahold of herself again was really amazing to watch. I can easily see that getting goopy and unbelievable: she could do the obvious and run and hug him, or the almost as obvious and get mad at him for scaring them, but instead she did a great job showing a range of different emotions while just standing there, trying to regain control.

I liked the ep and thought all the same thoughts pointed out here. I know Chuck is supposed to stay in the car, and yes I know he is going to get out, but what happens from there is the fun part. Does he get kidnapped? Does he save the day? It's just an hour of guilty pleasure for me.
