Finally got mine installed, after days of agonizing FIOS techs and cablecards.

Upgraded from an old Sony Tivo that I've had for 7 years. I have it connected to the phone line now, and have a USB wireless on order.

Can anyone summarize what cool things I can do with the wireless connection vs. phone? I know there's netflix/amazon downloads, access via the web, phone and mp3s. Anything else I'm missing that I should look at?

Netflix, Amazon on Demand, music from Live365.com, transfer of programs/shows between computer and tivos, Photos from photobucket/picasa, music off the computer, etc.

Be sure to see the tips link in my signature.

Some network functions won't be active until 36-48 hours after guided setup.

Be aware that the TiVo ships with an old version of the software that lacks some capabilities found in newer software. It can take up to a week to receive the latest software.

You might want to look in the "Tivo Home Media Features" subforum for information about pyTivo, streambaby, and other free programs that'll let you serve up content from your computer to your Tivo HD (if that floats your boat). I think it adds a lot of value to my Tivo.
