Is there any way to program the TIVO remote to access my favorite channels with less maneuvering than what comes standard? I really only need about 20 channels, but my local cable provider has many other channels that other members of the house would like to watch. Any way to switch in and out of favorites quicker?

Any way to program a button to open up a list of recorded shows? Without having to click twice?

Is there a list of programmable options for the remote beyond the 30 second skip?

Thanks for the help.......

Did you mark your favorites under Settings -> Channels -> Channels list? Once you've set your favorites, you can set the guide to display only favorites by pressing ENTER. There's no faster way to switch between your favorites list; that said, over time, many TiVo users find they rely less and less on the guide as they spend more of their time watching recorded programming.

Older TiVo remotes had a list button to take you directly to the recorded list with a single press. Many universal remotes allow you to add such a function as well.

See the tips link in my signature for more information.

Bringing up the NPL (recorded programs) takes two quick presses of the TiVo button. By my calculation that is 1/3 of a second longer than a single button.

..

SPS(IR)S = TUNER BANNER
SPS(Pause)S = SPEED UP STATUS BAR
SPS9S = DISPLAY CLOCK ON SCREEN
SPS4S = Display Disk Space Remaining

Edit: OK. The last one was just a bad joke on a boring Saturday night. But I guess I better fess up before going to bed

Yes, the basis of the question was lazy and the time saved from a one click button would have been lost by the time spent creating an account, posting a question, and now replying to your answer....

Thanks for the help though. Tivo is fun--definitely a lot better than what I was working with on cable DVR...
