I have a quick question. I have been having some issue with my Tivo after the last an update. Somebody mentioned to me I might want to try "Clearing & delete everything" to see if that helps. However, when I went to that screen and read the warning. It said that by doing this it would unpair my cable cards. So my question is what does this meaning? Am I going to have to call the cable company to get them repaired?
Yes.
Been there, done that. The cable company will have to re-pair them.
(Re-pair = pair again - i.e. reenter the magic numbers into their computer - not to be confused with repair meaning to fix something that is broken).

If the issue is the intermittent loss of analog channels, as you mentioned in the other thread, then clear and delete will do nothing to fix that. That's a bug in the software that must be resolved.
TiVo says they are working on a fix. Customer service reps are asking people with that problem to sign up at TiVo's Field Trials site (https://fieldtrials.tivo.com/signup/default.html?sid={78BC0272-0B2D-4BC7-818F-8D8AD0A8EDF9}) to help test the fix. Apparently, they need more testers to help eliminate that problem.
Signing up is no guarantee that TiVo will pick you, but it increases your chances from none to potentially much greater than none if they recognize you as having a problem for which they are testing a fix.
If you sign up, be sure to use the same screen name that you use here.
