Switched from D* to Comcast a few years back when Comcast introduced high speed internet to the neighborhood.
Gave up my TIVOs (I was sad).
A couple of months ago Verizon laid fiber.
My bill w/ Comcast is $176 per month (which includes 4 HD DVR's @ $21 a month & internet).
I saw a link that compared a snapshot of FIOS HD channel vs. Comcast (same channel, same time) the FIOS obviously had more detail.
Was wondering if anyone else in the Seattle area had made the leap & if they were happy, or had regrets. I would like to have TIVO back in my life.
Any advice would be appreciated..equipment, etc..

There's no reason why you can't have TiVo with comcast. I switched from directv to comcast a few years ago precisely because I wanted to KEEP TiVo.

Thanx JB for your input. I may go that route. When I switched I don't think my D* Tivo was compatible w/ Comcast, so I EBAY'd them & rented their house brand (Motorola). Disappointing.
More interested now in PQ, price,internet.. overall value of FIOS vs. Comcast & which HD Tivos to buy. Do most people uprade internal hard drive or buy an external one?

FIOS is not available in my area, but if it was, I'd switch in a heartbeat. I have S3 units with comcast right now, but they should work just fine (with new cablecards obviously) with FIOS.

Make sure you check out the pixelation thread here (http://tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=361244). Some people including myself have been unable to get Tivo HD working on FIOS without pixellation on some channels. I don't know whether it is a problem with Tivo or a problem with FIOS, but it is a serious problem for me.
