Hi - someone here suggested that it was possible to 'backup' my TiVo over the network. What I mean is this - I don't want to backup programs, but it would be great to backup settings, etc., so that if the disk died, and TiVo sent me a refurbished replacement unit, I could do a simple "restore" and be back in business. I'm -not- talking about opening the box, and connecting the disk to the PC. [and a discussion of why that's a good option is not what I'm looking for]. I'm just wondering if there's a way, from my PC, to 'backup" the TiVo (settings, not programming) that could be restored to a replacement unit (or disk, I suppose) later.
thanks!

If you subscribe to Guru Guides, I believe your season passes and wishlists are backed up to Tivo.com.
But there is no way to backup settings to your PC without opening the TiVo.

does that work on TivoHD?If you replace the PROM on the logic board with a hacked version, yes. Otherwise, no.
