I've been keeping an eye on the price of the myDVR Expander for a while and it's finally gone down to $115 with free shipping on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018O77Q2?ie=UTF8&tag=instheminofan-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0018O77Q2)! Just wanted to let everyone know!
Plus, just to triple check before I order: this is compatible with a TiVo HD (http://www.amazon.com/TiVo-TCD652160-Digital-Video-Recorder/dp/B000RZDBM2/), right?
Cheers,
Elton

The WD "My DVR Expander" is $109 at Dell.com, free shipping also.
Tried Amazon first, they hadn't gone on sale yet. Ordered 2 from Dell.com. Have had them several days, connected/up/running with TivoHDs. Very happy at this point.

Did you have to pay sales tax at Dell? I looked at that, and the tax makes the Amazon price a tad better.

Except, if you're state asks for your online purchases on the tax return, then it doesn't make a difference. Each state is different, but in CA we are asked for any purchases we made that did not get charged a sales tax, and normally would be. Silly me, but I'm actually honest about that sort of stuff. :o
Besides, with Amazon, it's REAL easy to add up your yearly purchases.

I just ordered from Dell - $79 after an instant $30 discount plus $4.99 shipping. No tax to OR.
Considering that we're now at the retail price for a plain old eSata external drive I can't see this getting much cheaper.
It may mean that the 1TB units are about to come out and Dell needs to get the 500GB units out of it's warehouse.

If Dell has a physical presence (ie a "Brick and mortar" Dell Store) in your state they are required to collect the sales tax. If they don't then technically you are supposed to report all your online purchases and send the appropriate sales tax to your state's Dept of Revenue (I'll do that right after I stop and ask a cop to write me a ticket the next time I run a red light).
I forget, these arem't stackable right? meaning, once you have 1 esata drive, we can't add a second one to get more space?

I haven't found enough good shows on TV to fill up my 20 HR Tivo yet :(

Nope. There is only one eSATA port on the TiVo.
