View Full Version : Is there a 60x FF shortcut?

One of the biggest frustrations for me dozens of times every day is having to hit the TiVo remote's fast forward button three times to reach 60x speed (one minute per second).
That's overwhelmingly the only speed I use. I hardly ever need 3x or 20x FF. Often I inadvertently hit it a fourth time - returning me to normal playback - and have to hit it three times again to resume 60x. Grrrr!
Is there any hidden, unsupported key sequence (like the 30 sec skip - lasts until reboot) that makes the FF & RW buttons go 60x with only one depress?

No, but you could use a macro-capable remote (e.g. Harmony) to just press FF 3X in a row, which probably would be 'good enough'.
When do you use this anyway? Just use 30 sec skip (which DOES survive reboots, at least on S3/Tivo HD) and/or skip to tick as workarounds.
Oh, though I think you may be right.. at least in the ooooooooold days (probably S1), I seem to remember people had figured out ways to hack the FF/rewind speeds.

If you have backdoors enabled you can use an enter enter code to adjust the speed of the 1x fast forward to 60x

Check the section labeled "4. Enter-Enter codes "

you can only enable back doors on a hacked unit now adays. The info in that thread is fairly old and will just make people realize what the good old days pre ver 8 software were like
