Can anyone point me to a list of UK TiVo Series IDs, with associated programme titles?
Thanks

Huh? That would be one heck of a HUGE list. What on earth do you need that for?

I use METAGENERATOR to generate TiVo metadata for loading content to my TiVo HD series 3 using Pytivo. Having a unique series id enables the shows to be grouped in folders. Metagenerator already accesses a database with US TiVo series ids, but I've not come across a database with UK series ids.

Fair enough. Just sounded odd to me. Happy hunting, but I don't know of such a database.

As you are based in both USA and UK, do you know if you can use a pair of Series 3 HD TiVos, one in UK one in USA with MRV across a VPN? :)

It would be possible but the upstream would severely limit throughput.

If the OP is in a Be Unlimited/O2 exchange area (see www.samknows.com) then up to 2Mbps is possible depending on proximity to the phone exchange.
Or SDSL at 2Mbps upstream also seems to be available in Southampton, albeit at a cost of £99 per month + VAT:eek:

Think about that for a moment. I'd argue the max average speed would be around 200K per second. Lets guess your recording is 1gb per hour. It would take an hour and twenty minutes to transfer an hour long show. I have no idea how the cross continental latency would effect the transfer.

Cyril - sorry for the delay in responding - never got a notifier that anyone had responded to my posting.
Its an interesting proposition.
I dont know if the MRV functionality would work over the internet per se, as the software on the Series 3 only seems to look for other TiVos with the same MAK key on the home network. If it could be hacked to look beyond the home network, then your internet upload speed would be the limiting factor.
I presume you're familiar with the capability of a Series 3 to receive content streamed to it from a PC, no hacking required? Using the Pytivo software, content can be "pushed" from a PC to the TiVo on the home network, or "pulled" from the HD TiVo itself?
So hypothetically, if one had a US series 3 in the UK (and assuming that a UK HDTV would be happy playing back a 1080i/60mhz of 720p/60mhz signal via an HDMI connection) then you have the native ability of a UK based Series 3 to receive content from a PC, along with the program meta data, using the PyTivo software. So you could use PyTivo or TiVo To Go to remotely extract shows from US Series 3 to a PC, and then use PyTvo to then stream extracted content back to your UK based Series 3.
Of course, the copyright issues of streaming your own content over the internet may be a bit murky, although it pretty much parallels the legal use of the Internet to stream your own recorded content around the world using a Slingbox, and receive it at the other end using a Slingcatcher.
