Hi! I've been a Tivo user for a long time but just lost dual tuner functionality on my S2 DT thanks to a move to all-digital FIOS, so instead of switching to Verizon's DVR we got a TiVo HD and set it up in the living room, with the idea that we'd record most shows in the living room and watch them in the bedroom over MRV.

I set everything up on the network (the S2DT is hard-wired into my router, and the HD is wired by Ethernet to a wireless gaming adapter), enabled transfers on both boxes, rebooted both Tivos, and it worked fine; I was able to transfer a show from the living room to the bedroom and vice versa. However, after a few hours, the other Tivo disappears from both Now Playing lists, and the only way to get it back is to reboot both Tivos, which is obviously a less than optimal solution. I can connect to the Tivo service, browse through VOD, pretty much anything else that I would expect to be able to do while online, but I can't see the other Tivo on the network.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Could there have been a problem with my activation or something? I know most reports say to wait 72 hours, but it's been nearly a week since I activated the new box (last Wednesday, 1/28).

Thanks for your help!

I don't have a solution but I do have the same problem!

I used to have my bedroom ReplayTV connected to a Linksys four port wireless "G" ethernet bridge and never had a problem with it not seeing the other ReplayTVs in the house.

With the Tivo the connections drop like you said. I have no problem connecting to the Tivo service or using any of the broadband functions.

My two ethernet connected Tivos are always visible to each other.

I haven't taken the time to research a solution, so I'd be curious to see if anyone else has one. My workaround has been to "change network configuration", but not actually change anything. That causes the Tivo to go back out to my DHCP server (router) for an IP address and then I'm able to MRV for a while.

I originally thought it was a problem with the IP lease duration between the ethernet bridge and the router, but I changed settings to "never expire" for the ethernet bridge and it didn't make a difference.

Regards,
