Well there is definately a rumour that TiVo won't ever come back to the UK, apparently the only interest in TiVo UK is a bunch of geeks on the TiVo forum, oh no that's us

That silicon Dust unit doesn't look like it will work here either

Nero's liquid TV with TiVo could come here but you could just use MCE with no sub

What we need is to force/persuade Sky to provide an official NDS CAM and sat tuners can then be used in an HTPC easily

Although it means 2 boxes, I actually think Tivo being forced to NOT have reception stuff inside is a good thing - it means Tivo will work with ANY reception methodology

Of course, the man (or woman) in the street might not see it that way unless it is marketed as an ADVANTAGE...

Anyone know anymore about this 'rumour'?Following the SiliconDust links, I get to a page that includes

HDHomeRun™ Networked Digital TV Tuner (DVB-T)

which receives DVB-T over-the-air digital TV.

Isn't that Freeview?

Snag is, it looks like you can only watch recorded stuff on a pc??

What about watching TV on a TV?

Yes I didn't read it properly, it does say Europe DVB-T, I stopped reading earlier at the USA/Canada bit.

Although we now have plenty of choice with Freeview PVR's and only one choice of Sky HD

Yes, except integrated can also mean Twin Tuner, one box, improved quality, and there is no way to record HD over a scart either.

Thats got to be an advantage, how about TiVo doing an integrated Freeview and Sky box

I think it is the same company as they also have the forum on the cachecard.

I sent a mail to Investor Relations, and received a note back from a Derrick Neuman who has offered to send my mail about Tivo in the UK to the "relevant parties". So I sent a note off, and received the following back

I have forwarded your email to the head of our International division. Also, let me pass along a couple comments that I think you’ll find insightful.

Over the past year, we have become much more focused on markets beyond the US (after a period of a couple years of only focusing on the US market) and now have commercial deals to provide TiVo in Australia, Canada, Mexico and Taiwan. The UK is one of the markets we’d really like to be in and we are actively looking at financially smart ways to enter the UK as well as other International markets

I know this is not big news, but let's see what I get back from "the head of our International division".......

Maybe they are at home infront of a secret S4 TiVo....

(but the other reason is that the picture could have been taken on a weekend)
