View Full Version : Anyway to setup a recording on a Tivo so it records on another Tivo?

Sometimes I am on one Tivo browsing around and see a good show that I want to record, but not on that particular Tivo, but on another Tivo.
I know I can record it there and transfer it later, but space might be an issue, and transfering takes time if it's HD and a long recording.
This seems like a trivial thing to do since you can setup recordings over the web.

So sign on to the web and schedule it :-)
This is not the kind of feature I want TiVo to spending a lot of time developing since it would benefit a very small portion of their user base.

That's the point, I don't think this would be very hard for them to implement. This can probably be coded by one of their developers during his lunch hour :)

If the Tivo has been hacked you could do it via TivoWebPlus. Otherwise, you'd have to do it remotely via the web or on the Tivo itself.

I thought about doing an HME interface to m.tivo.com. But I put the idea aside because the site wasn't really working for me even from a browser. (Wrong lineup shown, scheduled recordings didn't record, etc.) I'll try it again sometime and see if it's improved.
