I had a chance to watch the pilot of this recently and just wanted to say it seems very promising and the one promo I've seen for it doesn't do it justice. The pilot has some slow moments, but definitely gets the building towards something bigger vibe down.

Quick summary of the basic plot. I'm putting spoilers on this for people who like to go in completely blind, but I don't think any of this is giving too much away.

It is supposed to be very loosely based on David and Goliath, but set in a modern day alternative universe. Ian McShane plays King Silas the ruler of one nation that is currently at war with the Gaths. David is a farmboy turned soldier in the army who ends up catching the attention of the King.

The shows tone reminds me a bit of BSG and to a lesser extent shows like Deadwood and Carnivale. I highly recommend checking it out.

Looks like a great primetime soap to me,that fortunately isn't about lawyers or doctors. :) I will watch it for sure.

Anything with Ian McShane is going to be good. Of course, I wish he was still in Deadwood but I'll take what I can get.

My favorite character of his remains Lovejoy, from the show of the same name. Catch it on DVD or on torrents. Highly recommended!

Here are many more details about the plot, along with many spoilers:

It premieres March 15th?

That sounds about right, although I think they might still be jiggering with the schedule a bit. It was originally supposed to take over ER's spot on Thursdays, but I think they have moved it to Sunday now.

It sounds like it could be interesting. It also sounds like it will be canceled after about 6 episodes.
