"On Wednesday, January 28th at 6:00 PM PST and 9:00 PM EST, the stars of the cult television hit 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' will reunite to do what they do best — heckle bad movies. Join Mike Nelson, Kevin "Tom Servo" Murphy and Bill "Crow T. Robot" Corbett as they make fun of the 1950 short film, 'Overcoming Fear,' live over the internet.

This will be the second live broadcast for the Rifftrax fellows. I love these guys. But its not in any way a reunion and certainly not a reunion of the MST cast as the quote and thread title suggest. See Cinematic Titanic for the creative activities of Joel and some of the other MST cast and writers.

I greatly prefer the Rifftrax folks to Cinematic Titanic. I tried to watch Cinematic Titanic's stuff... I really did... but frankly, it was just painfully unfunny and I ended up stopping about a half hour into both movies that I tried.
I'm looking forward to this... the first live Rifftrax was very good. The only quibble is with the video... the guys were watching a rear projection TV, and they just used a camera pointed at the screen (with the guys in front of it riffing, loosely reminiscent of the silhouettes from MST3K). It made it a bit hard to see some of the video.

Cool! Thanks for the heads up.
I too prefer RiffTrax to Cinematic Titanic, FWIW.

They did a live show in St Louis last year. I really wanted to go, but had a conflict so I couldn't go.

It's NOT MST3k without Joel.

They're not calling it MST3K. But yeah, it's not MST3K, it's actually consistently funnier than Joel's riffs, IMO.
But this isn't the place to debate that.

Exactly. I don't want this to descend into a carbon copy of the 1993 Joel/Mike flamewars.
