I live in Comcast territory, Washington DC. They let me perform a self install on my Tivo HD with a single M card. Everything went smoothly except I am not receiving any HD channels. The CSTs are awful .. no surprise. They want to schedule a tech to come to my house to install a new card, but I think its just a card pairing issue.

My question for you guys is this: I am getting all of my digital channels and premiums, but only in SD. This confirms that the cable card is good, right? Should I just continue to play CST roulette until I get someone good? Or could this really be a bad M card?

Thanks guys.

Just keep calling tech support and have them send the signal over and over until they get it right!

I had a similar situation. All channels came in but no HD. Called Comcast, they sent the signal, said it could take 30 minutes (there was a queue) after a hour, no go. Called back, this time the lady says I will need 2 cards not the m-card, I told her I didn't think that was right, she guaranteed me she was right but said she would send the signal anyways.. We hung up, figured she was a pain so might as well see what happens and call back... few minutes later, HD came through

So call, ask them to redo the signals.. hang up, wait. call back and do it again. Until they get it right that is :)

Good luck

Call them back and tell the CSR you will hold while she calls their HelpDesk for instructions. You should see the channels before you hang-up.

The SD version and the HD version will be on different channels. Are you saying that you get the SD Channel, but not the HD channel? Are you also saying that you get a Premium channel in SD?

jrm, correct. I am getting the SD channel, but not the seperate HD channel. I also get the premium SD channels.

Thanks for the responses. I'm calling them again now.

My guess is that they are Authorizing you for Basic Digital instead of Digital Premium (or whatever they call it).
